My attempt at making a cut signature card

While I don't post or always look at these boards too often (I would love to, it's just a busy time of year for me).....I have noticed that some people on here make wonderful homemade cards. I even saw some on ebay tonight that I recognized seeing previously on this board. Anyways, while I have hundreds of cut signatures, I think cards are a great way to display them. I don't have any special programs like I'm sure some people use........so I know the card doesn't look too good.......but how can I improve it? What programs can I use? What kind of paper do you guys print this on?

The attached photo is of a card design I made in the paint/bitmap program with a scan of a cut Robert Redford signature I have (very amateur I know)......

What do you think? What could I do to improve it?

Thanks for your time. When I do look at this board, you guys always have interesting topics......I'll be sure to post much more often when this looooong exhausting month ends.

I guess it would have been hard to authenticate if he signed it "Roy Hobbs."

Thanks guys, though after looking at that guy "Knuckles" website, I feel like even more of an amateur. What kind of paper should I print this on to give it the "card" effect? I can't find anything that is suitable.

  • I like how there's a little bit of silver/gray in the blue color. Looks nice. For the cards that I make, I use glossy photo paper for both sides of the "card" and with the index card (auto) in between, the thickness ends up to be the same as a standard card. If you send that in for authentication/encapsulation at DNA, It should look nice with their new flips. They are also blue in color.

    Cheers! Wick

    Great looking card guy.

Sorry I have no advice here, except keep at it, you've got a good eye for a classy look.
