All this because my brother has a cool wife . . .

My brother's wife is really into the various meanings associated with each wedding anniversary, you know like 1st year is paper, 25th year is silver, 50th year is gold, 51st year is 1981 Topps Scratchoffs, whatever. So two year's ago, their anniversary was the "leather" anniversay, she gets my brother an autographed Ben Wallace basketball. Last year was the "appliance" anniversary, she gets my brother autographed cards (inserts) of Vinnie "the Microwave" Johnson and William "the Fridge" Perry. Never mind the gifts, the fact that she's even heard of Vinnie Johnson is cool enough.
Anyway, this year is the "wood" anniversary. So she sends me an email and says "whattya think, I was thinking maybe Kerry Wood or Tiger Woods or an antique wooden tennis racquet or something like that". (She did not mention Wilbur Wood, so she is human). Well of course I reply and say with wood, the sky is the limit. You got your bats and your hockey sticks and your pieces of various basketball courts and pieces of the Green Monster and stadium seats, or any of the above in a little piece on a trading card. Well, strictly as a favor to her (wink wink), I've been ebay watching a few stadium seats removed from Tiger Stadium. One of the said seats ended earlier this evening. I gave her a call to let her know it had about 1 hour to go and was reasonably priced. I had already emailed the seller and asked if it could be picked up locally (he lives fairly close), he said no problem. Well, to make a long story even longer, she decided that the stadium seat would not be best at this time because they have two very young children and she was concerned about them getting fingers pinched or banging their heads on it and so on. Those were good points I thought. . .
And then I bid on it anyway, for, as my daughter would say, "my ownself". I've always wanted one, now I have one:
Where am I going to put it? I have no idea.

Easy ... right smack dab in front of the TV so you can watch sports ...
"How about a little fire Scarecrow ?"
<< <i>I loved Michigan and Trumbell almost as much as Olympia! I would park it in front of my 65" HDTV and watch the Wings go at it in the Finals!! Night night >>
I hate to say this, because I love the Wings as much as the next guy, but they aren't going to the finals this year.
When the stupidity of reality finally sunk-in I got the same feeling I had when that old lady dropped the necklace into the northern atlantic in the titanic....i didn't care how old she was, if i was within kicking distance I wouldve knocked the dentures clear out of her mouth.

Hey aj, the bidding on this one closed at $149, which is the total cost because I can pick it up locally. Quite honestly, I think it's an exceptional price. I don't remember any similar seats selling for under much under $200, at least not in the condition it appears to be in.
