    Keep in mind that this time in history, Germany was under increasing inflation. I suspect this coin was produced out of non-precious metals for that reason. The silver content would have been worth much more than the denomination on the coin.

    I hope you didn't pay too much, these Alu coins are easy to find.

    The silver ones with almost the same design are much more expensive!
