Needs for my newly started Reggie Jackson basic set

Just started a Reggie Jackson basic set that can be found under raiderscott's Mr. October. Working off a limited budget for the time being. The most I'm looking to pay for any particular card is $10-15. I'm slowly working my way into this set- a couple of cards per month. Don't be afraid to offer something up, cause if I can't buy this month, there's always the next one. I have the following PSA's I would trade towards any Reggie's.

1984 Donruss Gary Carter PSA 8 11790616
1986-87 Fleer Steve Stipanovich PSA 8 90168386
1992-93 Ultra Shaquille O'Neal PSA 9 03604727

Thanks for the look, Scott.
Looking for low #'d 2006 Marques Hagans + 1991 Wild Card stripes of UVA players - Tony Covington, Shawn Moore, Herman Moore

Good luck on your Mr October set............obviously the first four cards in the set (69-72) will not be buyable (in PSA 8 form ) at $10-$15.

You can collect on a low budget if you pursue the most valuable cards (i.e. the rookie, etc in a much lower graded condition). Even if it means you have to save a couple of months to buy a lower-graded rookie at 50.00, go for it. There are mid-grade late 70's and 80's cards that you can easily afford on your budget. The wonderful thing about this hobby is that one can collect a Reggie Jackson set on a limited budget.

Have fun and good luck on your endeavor.

I have a Reggie Rookie PSA 5 I will trade or sell.
Also one that looks trimmed I'll sell or trade.
  • Shane, thanks for the offer, but that card is outta my league.

grilloj39- thanks for the advice. I've been a big Reggie fan since the late 70s (born in 71), got some nice auto'd stuff of him, so I figured why not do the basic set. My 2 main collecting goals for the past 3-5yrs have been trying to complete the 00 & 02 football SP Authentic sets for my kids birth years. Just need Brady from 00 and 15 cards to go for 02. I'm picky for the 02 set in that I'm only interested in the multi-colored jerseys. (I think I've seen maybe 2 Eric Crouch's in the last 6 months or so). I also lost out to Fabfrank a couple of weeks ago for the #92 Tomlinson auto. I need a break, so why not PSA Reggie stuff.

mkg809- interested in your 83 Donruss PSA 9, but not at that price. Can you pm with your best offer? Not interested in the 69 Reggie PSA 5. I've got a raw 69 Reggie that will grade at a 5-6 that I will eventually send in.

Question for the group- what's the SMR for a Reggie rc PSA 6 & 7? Also what do those typically go for on ebay these days?

SMR for the rookie is around $135 for a 6 and $235 for a 7. However, I have seen 6's go for around $110 and 7's at about $200
