Camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4500 mounted on a copy stand. Lighting is various combinations of 100W incandescent and full spectrum flourescent. Angles depend on how much lustre/color I'm looking to show. Nothing is exagerrated, but the setup for a flat toned VF coin vs. a colorfully toned lustrous coin differ quite a bit. Coin is shot against a piece of clear glass suspended over a white background to reduce shadow around the edges. Entire setup is mostly shielded from ambient light, but I don't turn off the over head office lights when I shoot.
Three and a half years worth of experimenting with this camera and various lighting also come into play here.
