Tire kickers on eBay

Don't you love it as a seller when someone asks tons of questions, then has a max bid of $25 on a $1200 card?

I am amazed sometimes of the bids people put in, I might as well give them a $1 and tell them to play lotto as they have a much better chance of hitting it...

Really, does someone think they're going to get a 53 PSA 5 Mantle for $44 max bid?

It is evident that we do have a drug problem in the world as there appears to be a lot of peeps smokin' the crack rock, especially on fleabay

    Is the auction over?

Some people may bid low just have it "in their face" for a final run. I think it's easier to set a snipe and forget about it but some like to handle it themselves?

    Mike, I agree.

Before I knew about sniping services, I'd put a bid in just to have it in the "buying" part of "my eBay", a easy reminder that I was watching.

And although I may have bid $20 to have it up but was planning on bidding $200 at the end, if the price was at $225 toward the end, I wouldn't put another bid in....leaving my max bid at $20 if anyone looked.

I agree. I watch over the 100 limit many times when i am building a set as I am now (1970 Topps BB) . I bid low to keep track of more items than the 100 maximun to see if I want to snipe later. ps I had to edit twice for spelling! Is there a spell check on this board???
My focus, 1970 Topps Baseball Raw and Graded, pre 1989 PSA Hockey and 1933 INDIAN GUM ! Yikes!!
  • Ditto. Sometimes I am over my 100 max "watching" items on Ebay, so I put in low bids to keep them in "items I'm bidding on" and wait to snipe on the last day..........
  • that's what is so strange about some is that they never even snipe....just ask 100 questions and bid about 10% book as their max...I have no problem whatsoever in someone asking questions as I tend to answer 99.9 percent of them (all legit of course), but just find it weird for some people to either be lonely or nutz to email for weird scans (like a super zoom on the upper left edge between this and that) and then max bid at such ridiculously low maxes w/ no snipes...

they may have snipes in and they did not register being the current bid was higher than their snipe.
