can cards shrink due to washing???

I have two raw 1955 Topps All Americans, that I really believe shrunk due to washing. They don't seem to have any trim marks, but are smaller than my other cards by more than 1/8 of an inch on the sides.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

I think it's possible the card is just "small" if it has no tell-tale trimming.
An 1/8" is really short tho.

would you mind providing a link to your '55 set. I'd love to admire and be jealous for awhile.

George: Yes. Significant shrinkage!
Jerry: So you feel you were short changed.
George: Yes! I mean, if she thinks that's me she's under a complete
misapprehension. That was not me, Jerry. That was not me.
That's absolutely fantastic.
Hopefully in about five years I can get close, but as you can see by mine, I have a long, long way to go.
Did you buy your cards graded or send them in yourself???
I've bought the 20 or 25 I have already graded, and most for about $15 to $25. So I'm apprehensive about buying raw and hoping to get 6's or 7's when the grading fee is so high($15 per card if not during a special)

I read somewhere that if you use Palmolive dish soap it helps to expand the size of the card and it won't fade the front of the card either. Apply the soap with your Mother's dish cloth in a circular motion. I read that it will also help to restore the "sparkle" in the card as well and it won't leave any residue. Hope this helps. chaz
