Home Buy, Sell, & Trade - U.S. Coins

I have a 20+ pound mountain of silver ($350 face) and NOW have 4 bidders vying for the entire lot. T

Man, breathing all this silver plugs up my nose so I really don't feel like sorting thru it all, but right off the top of my head I see that there are enough dateless Standing Liberty Quarters to make about a roll and a half

I have to keep washing my hands because this stuff is turning me Black. image

I have approximately a roll and a half of Mercury Dimes from all decades with many being from the 30s and 40s and having numismatic value.

I have 5 rolls of Roosevelt Dimes. These are all XF-AU-BU.

I have approximately a roll and a half of Walking Liberty Halves

I have easily over $100 face value in Franklin Halves. Many of these are collectable but not to the point that I'd say they are BU or anything. Most are VF-XF+.

I have easily about 12 pounds of Washington Quarters if not more. Most are quite collectable from the 40s, 50s and many from the 60s with mint marks. Plenty of AU-BU 60s with the ocassional full BU.

I want to make these available here first before I go into more detail and really start sorting them out by grade etc.

Man ... these fumes are noxious. I gotta put this stuff away NOW. If anybody wants first dibbs drop me a PM.

Somebody open a window in this club. imageimage

Thanx for the responses thus far. Several have come forward and have expressed interest in the entire lot. I realize that the initial post is

slightly vague therefore when I muster up the courage I'll try to sort everything out and give you guys more accurate #s etc.

I actually dread handling this much silver and STILL have a headache from messing with so much of it last night. No kidding.

A miniscule portion of this pile is what I would refer to as junk. The vast majority of it actually has higher graded pieces that have

numismatic value. I've run across a lot of coins that are full XF- AU and even BU, many with Mint marks as well. image

Q: Why not keep it simple and get rid of that stink real quick. A bag of $1,000 face 90% weighs approx 54lbs. since you claim your weight is 20 lbs., you have about 1/3 bag. The current 90% bag bid is around $8400 @ 12.05 spot silver. So your stinky accumulation is worth about $2800. Good luck.

I have several people interested, some in the entire lot. I've attempted to go thru the pile and basically this is what I have come up with. Of course, prices are subject to change because it is entirely possible that I may have made some miscalculations because of these obnoxious fumes that all this silver puts off. Some say that they have never noticed it before. Well, I must be allergic to this much because it sure does affect my sinuses and my breathing.

Here are the tentative prices and descriptions. If anyone spots any glaring mistakes please bring them to my attention.

    Thanx. image

I am trying my best to accomodate everyone, so please bear with me. Franklins, I have $150 Face. - $1250. These are all nicer pieces (the vast majority are anyway)

Washingtons, I have $180 Face.- $1485. These cover all decades and vary in grade but the majority of them are XF-AU/BU. You won't be disappointed with either of these lots.

The Roosevelts. the same XF-AU-BU -5 rolls -$200. None of these 3 lots are what I call junk, not in the least,

Mercury Dimes. I have $8.00 face, some 20s, mostly 30s and 40s and many with Mint marks. Some only grade Good but others, as graded by Photograde would grade full XF. Regardless, I am asking $70.00 for this lot and you could make that up pretty quickly by selling the better pieces individually, particularly if you have a shop.

The WLH and SLQ are true junk, a couple WLHs are nice, the rest are normal circulated pieces with the SLQs being dateless.. WLHs $14 Face- $112, $120 if purchased seperately. SLQs (55 pcs) weigh 11.2 ozs on the digital scale- $120, includes ins & Del Conf. I would ask that if you are interested in any of this to stay in touch and do nothing before checking with me. I have a line of people to deal with and am trying to accomodate everyone. Should you want everything I will obviously need to double check my count and figures and would ship Flat Rate Priority Box (actual cost plus ins & Del Conf)

People that have worked with me will attest to the fact that I am honest and very easy to work with. I would appreciate either a certified Bank Check but if you want to use PayPal and PayPal shipping be advised that I must tack on their fees as I am brokering this for someone else. and must account for every expense etc. Actual USPS shipping rates will apply. There will be no gouging or padding S/H figures.

Again, thank you for your interest. If interested we'll get together on the total as Most certaily I surely must have made a mistake or 2 along the line from trying to hurry to accomodate everyone. DON'T DO anything without checking with me first because I am trying to be fair and accomodate as many as I possibly can.

Do not hold me to these prices until I recheck my figures. I'll try to give yet a better, more accurate breakdown on all this later. Again, if anyone spots any glaring error, by all means do feel free to speak up and draw it to my attention. I come up with $3237 for the whole shooting match and I spring for the S/H and no tack on for PayPal however a certified Bank Check would work best for me. Does this sound about right? I may even throw in a few extra surprises.. Speak up if you spot some errors. I'm telling ya, these fumes from all this silver is giving me a buzz and a bad head!

    Thanx,

Thank you one and all for all the responses. I want to bring you all up to speed here. I have had many offers and most are quite nice. I sincerely regret that I cannot accomodate everyone. I have 2 buyers that are deadly serious about purchasing the entire lot, which I just recounted.

If I add another $5.50 in full weighted half dollars ( another $1 in Franklins and $4.50 in BU 1964 Kennedys) unless I have made some glaring error ( rest assured I WILL check and double check before shipping) I believe I would have exactly $350.00 face value here.

I really do not care for the word "Junk" at all simply because of the way it sounds and the imagery the brain conjures up. There are a lot of better grade pieces here that have numismatic value.

Regardless, I will be in correspondence with the two most interested parties and will work with whichever one agrees to my terms. Priority Mail USPS rates (actual Flat Rate Box OR certified/ Registered) will be applicable along with full insurance as I will send the package in the most secure but cost effective way possible. I DO NOT cut corners when it comes to S/H.

Should either of these parties fail to come to terms I will then take the lot to one of two well known sites and sell it there. I wish I could accomodate everyone but I simply cannot because in this particular instance I am acting as another person's broker and must account for my every action.

I am also sitting on my own personal hoard of impeccable Sterling Silver (.999% Pure) ASEs that were NOT the kind that came in tubes but rather were straight from the Mint offered in presentation cases inside Air Tites and have NEVER been exposed to the elements in any fashion.

Each and every one of these is perfectly struck, haze-free and spotless as well as hit, nick & tick free. They are true candidates for MS 70 from the early 90s (90-94) complete with certificates of Authenticity and most certainly will NOT be sold at anywhere near spot.

That reminds me, I have yet another hoard of silver that includes a sterling silver spoon that was used to cook the family's meals that belonged to my great- great Grandmother. I'll sort thru that as well and just may offer this here as well. You guys will be the first to know and pix will be available.

    Thanx again.

    All the best,

I must be missing something. Before adding in the new half additions, I had $415.75 face....now $421.25. Unless of course you're not counting face on the "junk".

I tell you what, if silver prices don't fall by August this year (our hunt is in September), our metal detecting club is going to REALLY be hurting to keep any decent quantity of prizes / silver in the ground. Oh, and thanks again to those of you that helped out last year!

I now have 4 main bidders and each has been made aware of what the high bid for the entire $350 face lot is. I am under no duress to sell it presently or at all. I am brokering it for a close friend and he has left it totally up to me. image

    Time for some shut eye.
  • BOOM, before you commit to anyone here, do yourself a favor and check out apmex.com and tulving.com. After seeing what they offer, you won't want to sell here at all.
