  • Bought 10 cellos from BBCKid. Submitted about 20-25. Three 10s. Quite a few 9s. Good fun/a whole lot of money! Was disappointed with gum stains on a Fisk and McCovey.

Just purchased the 1984 six rack box case from BBCExchange. Financially, that's more my speed.

If you take the plunge, many scans please.

Hey ! I just busted one of those 84 cases. I have a buttload of cards ready to send in. Good luck with yours.

I cant believe you got three tens from cello, How many cards are in a 75 cello ?? I think there are 10 in a wax pack. and ohhh yes scans will be a plenty !

  • I believe there were 18-20 cards per cello. I could be wrong, though.

I sold one, but held on to these two:

Wow ! Those are sweet ! Youve got me wanting to buy cellos now. BBC Echange has got a GAI pack graded a 9 that I may try. But the kid has got some nice ungraded cellos too. With 18-20 cards in a pack if the corners arent bent from tight wrapping they are a better deal than the 10 in a wax pack.
    Decisions, Decisions !

  • Any of you consider buying the mini wax box BBCE has? I'm tempted every now and then

By the way did you find that the corners were nipped on the first few in the cello packs ?? Did you get your best cards from the center or close to center of the pack ??

  • Actually, they were all GAI graded. Found that the cellos were nice and loose.

Don't recall many dinged corners at all.

My wife would kill me if she knew what I spent!

<< <i>I know I shouldt have done this but I just put in a bid for a rack pack of 75's on Ebay. Since Racks are pretty hard to reseal and the seller has good feedback and sells a fair amount of unopened material i thought I would take a chance. I probably wont win it anyway. >>

    What's the bidding up to?

    I find when I don't think I'm gonna get something...I do.

I have been tempted often. Almost pulled the trigger once but opted for a 77 wax box for a few less $$. I wish I took the plunge though. I may buy it the next time $ is burning a hole in my paypal account image

$125, but it has three days to go.

I guess my next question is; How do you tell if a rack has been tampered with ?? >>

I would consider contacting Steve Hart on that one.

The guy handles about as much stuff as anyone around.

I think your OK. I recently bought a GAI 8 74 fb wax and the thing was brutal. I could see a tear starting on one of the corners.

I think thats a waste of money on graded packs if your intent is busting them. Just find a reputable sellr and you should be as good as a pack graded an 8.

My best eBay find ever was a flier on a 1971 fb vending box. The title of the auction was "500 new football cards". The pictures looked good so I took a chance. This thing was unsearched and pristine. Had I not ripped it open I couald have made 1000% on a resale if I waited 2 years. Anywhoo, the seller had awesome feedback, a terrible title, great pictures and this big kid got a hell of a bargain.

In my opinion 75 minis are great looking cards if you can find any that are well centered and non tilted portaits. My experience with them and I have opened close to 3 wax boxes 1 within the last year at least half were off center, all bottom cards had gum stains and all top cards had wax stains and several were considered miscut by psa standards. Not a good choice in my opinion.
As much as I would like to own a 75 mini set I would have to look at in in person before I would buy it.

I( I shared the packs with another PSA GUY) bought 10 packs from BBCKID at The Sun Times show about 2 or 3 years ago.
We pulled the first Nolan Ryan Highlight PSA 9(sold for around 600.00 at the time) we pulled lots of blazers but not many stars! We did more than OK though! It is a great product and the return was good for us! We paid 50.00 a pack! I believe the 9's brought us about 30.00 a card and we had at least 15 of them!

We got no PSA 10's but mainly 9's and a few 8's on our submission

I only have experience opening two packs. One I opened several years ago came up empty (all O/C commons, possibly searched). Another I opened 4-5 years ago and pulled a Seaver and Billy Williams. The Seaver graded a 9 and the Williams an 8.
  • I just opened 3 boxes of 75 minis within the last month..everything that was posted earlier I agree with great cards but some miscuts then the wax/gum issues...still have 2 boxes lefted ungraded and 2 more boxes GAI graded 8...anyone want too buy the 2 ungraded I will beat BBCE and sell for $1400 free shipping of course
  • That Mini Cello should go for big $$$, they are really rare. BBCE tried selling a mini cello box on eBay but bidding didn't reach their reserve (i might be wrong here, but i think bidding was up to something like $5000)

I have had the worst results with 75 mini's . opened about 10-20 packs. never pulled a centered star, pulled many o/c stars and a lot of oc commons. Had much better luck with regular 75's
  • I have a mini rack that is even rarer than a mini cello
