Picture Woes

You guys have some of the best coin pics I have ever seen. How are you doing it? I would like to scan or shoot some slabbed coinage for sale on ebay, but my scanner won't give a clear pic at any resolution and my 7 megapixel camera catches every glare in any light.

Better pics with a digital camera
  • Thanks Mill. I had hope for something that would give me quick and dirty results, but it doesn't appear tha that is practicle in this case.

  • Yep, shooting through a slab is a real pain in the neck for me as well.

  • Hey GR, I actually utilized the tips in the link given to me by Millenium and they worked quite well. I don't have the equpiment for lighting reccomended by the site, but I did work on lighting angles etc, that they outlined and I got better results than I ever have befor. The main issue is shutter speed and iso settings combined with the lighting and focus. Most auto-focus digitals want to focus on the slab rather than the coin. and lighting cannot/should not be direct.

At any rate, I accomplished my task(s) and I am in debted to my friends here again.
