I wish I had a bunch of Chris Shelton cards to sell right now. Check out the bidding on this autographed card after he slugged two more homers last night. In 13 at bats, the Tigers slugger is now hitting .692 with 4 homers. The bidding on this card went from $7 to $20. You can never underestimate the power of a few homers and the zealousness of a few fans.

Looking for Al Hrabosky and any OPC Dave Campbells (the ESPN guy)
I'd do a one-day auction on them
Do you have one of these?
Pristine Chris Shelton
I was just thinking last night - do we have any RC sellers here.
We used to have a bunch of guys discussing them and their sales.
Beachbum, Roach, KallMalonesay e.g.
There's a certain excitement in the air when discussing hot RC's and the current trading trends.
Good luck guys,
mike

Nice card. Although I wouldn't spend $200 on Chris Shelton. I could buy a PSA 9 Winfield rookie for that price.
onlyanumber,
I think your /999 Pristine rookies will sell just fine. I say go with a short-term auction though. That's just my opinion.

I went with a five day--not too many Sheltons up there from Pristine so I figured I'd roll the dice... Besides Shelton gets some Texas pitching this weekend

Of course, I'm also the guy who sold his Bruce Sutter rookies the week before it was announced he was going into the Hall of Fame and watched helplessly as someone resold them a couple weeks later for triple what I sold them for
Good call on your auctions. I was referring to the seller of the 2005 Leaf Auto in zef's post.
Good luck.
Tigers magic number is 158 to clinch, 157 to tie.
Look for the Tigers to go something like 161-1 this year, with their only loss being the game following the All-Star break when Leyland rests his 8 position players, all of whom started the All-Star game (similar to the Red Wings loss following the Olympics when they rested the Gold Medal winning Swedes).

Yes, BUT! Shelton is the third ugliest looking Tiger ever, only behind Don Mossi and Gates Brown!
He might even be uglier than the Gator?
Sorry, I had to vent after their 0-5 start.
unreal...
Who is this kid??
On a side note, Arizona prospect Conor Jackson is looking good too for those of you chasing young rookies.
I also sold a 2001 Leaf Limited Travis Hafner auto rookie for about eight bucks three years ago....oops.

No, to get it DOWN to .700--he was at .757 when 3-3
Looking for Jonny Gomes cards, especially Triple Threads and printing plates. Will consider all cards, though. Got something? Contact me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com
As a resident of the Detroit area, I have seen Chris Shelton play the past couple years, mainly in the last year. He may not be Mr. Fifty-homers a year, but I kinda put him in the class of the late Kirby Puckett. If anyone remembers last year, he started off strong, allowing the Tigers to kick Carlos Pena to the curb. He had quite a huge slump after his amazing start, but still finished with strong stats, all this, still being a rookie (or 2nd year rookie) on a terrible team with no real hitters around him much of the year. Compare his body to Puck's, both are somewhat short, kinda chubby looking, have the huge butt (do not go there either)! Personally I do not think Shelton would ever be named in the same breath as a Mattingly, Boggs, or Puckett, but before his career is done, if he stays healthy, I see him winning a few batting titles. As a long time Tiger's fan, a supporter of the team through this long-term rerererebuilding, I think it is about time we have a player like Shelton, and others that have come on board, and I give this team another year or two, to be mentioned in the same breath as the hated Yankees. I would not overpay for a Shelton rookie, but if I can get my hands on a few for a good deal, definitely something I would do without a second thought.
But in any event, even if this Tiger's start turns out to be a fluke, we still have the Red Wings and the Pistons who have brought home championships, and chances are, they will do so again come June. And we also have the Detroit Lions to laugh and argue about, because all one can do is laugh at that fiaso, the past stresses with this team would put any Lion's fan in the grave by the age of 31, at that age, I would only have one more losing season, and I am history!!!! I will add my thoughts from time to time everyone, if it is something I know about!!!
Good job by Tigers in picking this guy in the Rule 5 draft.
With Shelton, I say it is about time that things appear to be in focus as far as getting youth that matures into something promising. As a Tigers fan, I am just glad to see that our minor league talent is beginning to develop, and we are finally having a few good drafts. Hopefully all this losing of the recent 18 years, will pay off. I still think the Tigers need one more good pitcher, is Roger Clemens still available?

Shelton's first at-bat, he looks at two right down the pipe. On the 0-2 pitch, he hits one that never gets higher than 8 feet off the ground into the left field stands. The only question was whether the ball was going to go over the wall or through the wall. Granted he struck out his next two at bats, but still . . .
<< <i>I think someone named Tuffy Rhodes for the Cubs hit three jacks on opening day a few years back, what ever happened to him? Hopefully Shelton doesn't follow that path of a player coming out of the gates screaming and fading down the stretch, heck; I don't even think Rhodes made it to the stretch. >>
Karl Tuffy Rhodes hit three homeruns on opening day 1994. He ended up with 8 homeruns total for the season. He found success in Japan and became a star over there...
