Irish Proof Euros

I have just receieved a Mail drop from the Irish Central Bank announcing the new 2006 Proof Euro set.
I will post pictures when I receive my order back in a few weeks time.

    I finally rec'd my order form too today. I went and sent it Express mail (not cheap). I get home and see on the Central Bank's website that all sets are sold out!!! image

    So, I found two sets on ebay at twice the issue price and bought them both. I see these being quite valuable and I need one for my personal collection. The first few years of official Irish euro mint sets are quite pricey now and had many more issued.

    At least the gold and silver two piece commem. set is still available. My order has long since gone out for that.

    Tony,
    Ireland's been issuing a lot of Euro-denominated medal-coins over the past few years.The most recent ones have been the Sir Ernest Shackleton & Tom Crean issue,which commemorates the International Polar Year.

    Sir Ernest Shackleton is depicted,as he was a British explorer who was born in County Kildare,which is now in the Republic of Ireland.
