There is no reason this should not be a legit auction.

  • but what's with that horrible pic? you own a $10,000 baseball card but a $20 scanner? Also, browsing through his feedback, I have yet to find any other high dollar cards he has sold.

I was thinking the same thing about this one...

    Cobb Green

The guy has impeccable feedback, nice scans, and I'm still leary because he's only recently been selling $5-$10 cards.

  • Second one looks real too. The guy has always sold cards. Maybe he is selling off a few of his personal collection or is consigning 3 for someone. Looks good to me.....

In both instances, multiple pictures are provided, which is usually a sign of a legitimate auction. It is easy for a scamer to save a single pic from another auction and use it in their own, but most would be too dumb or too lazy to use more than one pic.
  • both look fine to me as well/

I question the cards authenticity. Look at the frosting on the right side of the holder. It has the appearance of being compromised.

    Totally legit.

If anyone wants to know more about this card or any of the other T206's that this seller is auctioning off feel free to join The Smack Zone. Once you've signed up just check out the Card Collecting Zone and you can find the discussions on these cards.

Good point, although it's tough to tell from the crappy picture and the white background. Requesting a larger picture against a dark background would be reasonable and prudent.

As soon as I looked I thought it seemed like more frosting than my bowl of frosted falkes....

Gee, don't bother building a good reputation on eBay, let's just jump in and sell a Ty Cobb card!

    For real?
  • Seller no longer a registered user - I guess it wasn't legit after all.
