Resolved.

Error on the part of PSA/DNA or is the guy swapping cards out of cases?
I looked up the cert #'s and both only say "CARD", not what year, set or card number.

The case does not look tampered with to me, but its harder to tell with a scan than seeing it live.

It could be a mistake in which case PSA will reholder it for free. I don't know if you have to pay postage for it though.

Are you implying that a crook faked an autograph on a 1987 and then wanted to find a holder that says authenticated? Well, the crook could have done better by getting an 1989 card and forging the signature on that. Would the crook make a mistake like this? Maybe, but not likely. It seems to be more of an oversight from PSA.

IMHO the sig looks good, I can't see anybody stripping out an 89 clemens auto to put in an 87 clemens auto. Probably just a typo/ psa error. I think you can send it back and get it fixed.

I dunno... there's two sides to it. Would the crook be that dumb or would the company be that dumb? I'm guessing by the Cert#'s that they were authenticated back to back. That's a heck of an oversight.

looks like a psa mechanical error. not too uncommon despite what one poster will say about PSA's service level.

It does not cost any money to call PSA and tell them your problem and see what they say. Just a thought.

  • Gotta go with mechanical error. What good is a 1989 Clemens card which wont bring any value unless its authenticated again? I have a submission ready with 9 mechanical errors ready to go when I get the time..............
