Got grades... good news and not so good news...

Canada... the 1905 50 CENTS came back VF30...I was hoping for 35 based on originality... the 1946 25 CENTS came back 63... oooh and I thought 64 with a shot at 65... a setback.

Mexico... success... 1905 20 CENTAVOS MS64image 1910 PESO MS64image
1915 Revolutionary Peso MS62... These are not listed in Krause with an UNC Value... and the 1891 Fz 8R came back MS67.

GB... 1905 1/2 Crown EF40, 1909 1/2 Crown AU58, 1904 1/2 Crown AU55.... MORE ON GB later

Italy and Denmark... I submitted a 1927 5L and the 1945 2KR thinking these were lock 65 with shots at higher grades and they both were panned... 64's for both... oh well... more later...

As in too low, or too high? Is EF 40 a good grade for that year? (sorry to be so ignorant)image

I don't know what 'kat was expecting, but a 1905 1/2 Crown in EF is a very expensive coin. Only 166,000 minted. Krause has it at $1200.

The 1905 1/2 Crown that I bought is EF40 and seriously... that is what I anticipated. This date is very tough in high circulated grades and UNC. It is one of those situations of seizing the moment and considering my experiences, I am pleased that I did. This is a very tough coin to value in light of how infrequent it is offered in AU and UNC. I'll be happy with this one for quite awhile.
