Does anyone ever trade registries ?

I have a few sets in the registry that I dont work on anymore. And honestly I am more interested in other sets now. have any of you ever been able to trade registry sets you werent interested in anymore to someone else for thier registry that you were interested in?? I realize thier could be cash involved also, but, has anyone ever done it? image

I think most such deals involve Registry sets traded for proceeds from cash registries.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

lol,Yes, I would think so too. However, there has got to be some registry owners out there who have given up or become uninterested in the sets they are working on and would like to trade out of thier set into something they wanted to work on. I realize that an even set to set trade would be virtually impossible therefore thier would have to be some cash involved even in this type of trade.

  • Tennessee,
I have a bunch of stuff that either I know longer work on, don't work on actively or have second or even third sets (OK fifth sets in one year but that is a bit overboard) that I have ended up with that I will never complete. I have tried a few times trading on these boards and have rarely found even a match for single cards, let alone groups. I would be glad to listen to what you have and what your looking for if you ever want to give that a try.

Never mind, Fuzz, I know now that you are the infamous Fuzzdude.

I was kinda looking to get into the 75 topps baseball though, Dont see a fuzz on that one yet.

  • I would be interested in the early football sets if someone is wanting to retire their set. There seems to be a lot of people on the boards with 4 or 5 cards that have a registered set? I think they should put a minimum of 25% of the set or something. Oh well.

  • Ive got 150 7's & 8's from 67 Baseball I would love to trade. Low pops too. Anybody have a large lot they are no longer are building?
Maybe a 65 set would be nice. I have about 22% of that one in 7's & 8's.

Seems like 1967 Baseball is hot - Splendid splinter has what sounds like a great lot, 1420sports has another nice-sounding lot on the buy/sell/trade thread, and a third big group didn't reach reserve on ebay last night (unless that is one of the afforementioned groups). Somebody could put together a great start on a great set...

  • Tennessee,
Story of my life. Right person.... wrong stuff. I do have a bit of 75 that I have not listed but have long thought of starting that stuff myself so I have that set aside for "future endoevors". Maybe it will work out well with Stump. Infamous !?! Just a simple farm boy having a little hobby. Best of luck and hope you get what you are after.

    Czar,
Yes, I have 66 BB. Three sets in the top 15 which have not been updated for several years as well as another 1000+ PSA 7/8's that I have not put into sets yet. What do you have in mind?

What Mike said! Between Neal's lot & mine, you would have over 80 to 85% of the set and it would be in nothing lower than 7's with at least 75 to 100 8's!! Lots of low pops too!

Someone has to want to trade for 67's!!

Ok here is one of the sets in the registry I was wanting to trade, I realize it isnt complete or even close, but, Take a look and let me know. I have started collecting 75 baseball, so if you would like to trade some or all of my 73 football for some 75's that would be my first choice, although I am not closed to other years as well.

    TN B,
Still haven't sent them in as I've been waiting for a $5 monthly special (which will hopefully come in May...). Any luck finding a nice #2 Record Breaker card from the set?

Packernut: Your 25% is easy to say for some sets, but for many player sets thats a tough goal. For some that would mean over 200 graded cards.

Does anyone want to trade for my baseball card collection? I probably have 15 to 20k cards - most being last 70's to early/mid 80's. I bought quite a few vending, cello and rack boxes and have 5 or 6 Topps Ripken rookies, Gwynn, Boggs and Sandburg rookies, Clemens, McGuire, ect... I could give a better description if someone is seriously interested. Cards are generally in good shape, and there are many gradeable cards in my collection. I only collect football now - so let me know what you have to trade. Not many are graded - but I do have some including a PSA 9 Fleer Glossy Bonds, PSA 8 McGuire Topps rc, PSA 8 Ripken rookie, PSA 9 Gwynn rookies, ungraded Puckett Fleer Update rc. Let me know!! My football card sets are registered under Greg Montieth's Collection. Check out my Dan Marino basic or master sets and follow the link to all my other sets.
