Ebay/Paypal Dilema

Sold an item back on February 2. Item was mailed out within couple of days, item was paid with Paypal. Item was never received by buyer in over a month, refunded person on March 8th for the $16.00 paid. Just received feedback yesterday from buyer for this particular item. Does not say when he received it, but it has been close to 2 months. I sent him a message stating that he should credit my paypal account for the $16.00 now that item is received. Has anyone had a similiar experience.

  • Does he say in the feedback that he received the card? Sometimes they leave feedback on the transaction (refund) just to leave a comment. I once received a refund from a very fair and friendly seller, and left positive feedback even though the item/money never changed hands.

Good point, did not think of that being the case.
  • Was the item shipped to Canada?? I have had nearly perfect results shipping to Canada, but some items have been "lost" in Customs for several weeks! You handled it like you should; however, just send the purchaser a friendly reminder .....if the item ever shows up to either return it or send you a refund.

Nope, item was shipped to somewhere in the states. It still states on the USPS site that item is in transit and not received at buyers address?? Maybe he finally gave me a pos. feedback for the refund??

When this happens to me, which is rarely but more often than I would like, I usually end up exchanging feedback with the buyer. I think it at least promotes goodwill and since I'm working towards going full time, I consider it customer service.

I would send the buyer an email and ask if he received the item, noting that he left feedback.
