    I would never, ever, discount the Braves. I think the Phillies my surprise a few ... certainly one of the best lineups in the NL.

    Pitching, that is the Phils biggest hurdle.

    Mets had the 3rd lowest team E.R.A in the N.L last year at 3.60 and change

    Yes we have the pitching !

    This year we have the type of reliever that last year we didn't have

    Nice win today. although it was ugly and a lucky call our way.

    Wagner is gonna be the reason why we make the playoffs this year.

    still dont understand why wright bats 5th.

    id put beltran 2nd wright 3rd diaz/nady 5th floyd 6th duke 7th hernandez 8th.

    And altho the Braves won today - it was pretty ugly - relief stunk!

    162 games.

    yeah gonna be a crazy year in new york..

    piazza hit # 398 today.... it will be a long time before we see another catcher hit 400 ever again.

    Ya know Chris, as a lefty he's already HOF material IMO.

    He throws with such an easy delivery, is always in great shape and it's a matter of how good his stuff will be. In the past few years he's slowed down - but don't be surprised if he doesn't have another 20 game win in his tank?

    About glavine.. the espn announcers today were talking about steroids and saying, does that make glavines stats look that much better pitching in the steroid era? I think you have to say yes on this subject..

    great game. only thing i hate about our own fans is booing beltran today. its one game. and then goto espn boards and everyone screaming trade heilman on there ( well not everyone but some).. never happy unless we play perfect every day.

    I've been a fan of my teams for 30 yrs now and i have never once boo'd one of players of the teams i root for

    It makes absolute zero sense to me.. If their struggling and you want them to do better why would you boo them then knowing that it's only going to make them press harder which usually only makes them play worse

    I like the Mets this year too. I agree with Stone - if Glavine doesn't win another game in the bigs, he's already a Hall of Famer.

    Speaking as a Blue Jays fan, you will come to love Carlos Delgado. Not only a great power hitter, but an all-around good hitter. High OBP. A very likeable guy too.

    I agree I've never booed a player on my favorite team.

    Phillie fans are brutal. At times, they were merciless in boing Mike Schmidt.
