How long did it take you to win something in Mastro's Auction?
I don't strongly pursue many things in the auction since I know the strong bids many of the lots get. The 8 or so times I've tried to competitively bid I've been shot down. Maybe this time I'll get something.

<< <i>If you win, you probrably overpaid. >>
Maybe, Maybe Not.
Case in point --
I won the first auction I participated in winning a two-card lot consisting of 1 1969 Topps Joe Namath PSA 9 and 1 1969 Topps Larry Csonka PSA 9. I really wanted the Csonka and never having seen one may have overpaid. However, after selling the Namath on Ebay, I was into the Csonka for less than it would have cost me in an ebay auction.

<< <i>Not always true. If you place bids on multiple items early, you have a chance of winning some at a fair price. The object of the game is to bid on as many items as soon as possible. I won 6 items last year and three of those have already turned a very nice return on my money. Now one of those has been a loser, but the other two are on track to be a profitable venture.

I do not think I understand your logic...........I assume you mean getting in some early low-ball bids in the hope that no one else bids on the item??

In bidding with Mastro on the LAST day, you need to have a bid in prior to the day of close in order to compete that night. My first two experiences with Mastro back four years ago, I bid pretty aggressively on 4 sets that I was really interested in. I had marked 20 or so lots to watch how they ended up. After getting out bid on the four sets around 1:00a.m., I decided to review over the watched lots before heading to bed. I noticed two or three of them that I would have wanted to participate in, but could not because I had not thrown in a bid prior to that night. My point is to bid on everything that interests you once the bidding starts off. It always gives you an option if things don't go your way.
