MOSH sets for sale!

I notice that Museum Of Sports History's 1972 Topps hockey set is up for auction at Mastro (Lot 1882). The set is #5 in the registry, which I find odd, because they normally spend their way to #1 in every set they attempt. A case of refocusing their efforts elsewhere? I know MOSH is much heavier into football than hockey.

Edited to add: their 1971 Topps hockey set is for sale too. Any others?

MOSH is also selling 60-61 Topps, 61-62 Topps and 63-64 Topps. All are at or near the top of the PSA registry.

As much as MOSH overpays for certain cards, I have a hard time believing that he/she/it would actually make money from selling sets. I wonder if the MOSH empire finally lost its golden goose??? Or maybe the money tree wilted and died....who knows. On the other hand, MOSH may be refocusing on one of the other sports....baseball perhaps?

Well, since MOSH picked up a PSA 7 1948 Leaf Bobby Layne for $2700+ this weekend, I dont think they are drying up....Most likely just dumping hockey and sticking to football and basketball...

MOSH made a pretty big jump in the baseball HOF rookies set recently. Luckily I've already got just about all the cards I want from that set. Whew image
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Just a bit of a refocus guys. Everyone has been there, had some high end or nice stuff that you fell into but it didn't really fit an objective.
Hard to part with stuff like that, but doesn't make a lot of sense to pursue either.

It's very time consuming, trying to upgrade 100s of sets, have to stick to certain arenas.

Those 60s sets especially are super primo!

    The 60, 61 & 63 sets are extraordinary!

I wouldn't mind owning the Dryden gem either.

Once again Mastro comes up with the goods.

  • Jeremy,
I will ask you since I am sure that you are in the know. Does this mean that the Museum will not have any Hockey in it? Got to admit of the four sports, that is the one I have never really put my toe in either.

Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.
  • As the saying goes, never say never. But I personally can't see that there will be much if any hockey in the future.

But who knows, I could be surprised.

The beginning of the end for the "Evil Empire"????
  • Evil Empire? Why, because they are giving you some competition? LOL

  • Not sure if still available, but MOSH didn't block out "see registants other sets" on a couple of their hockey listings. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
