Getting ready to leave for the White Sox game!

The weather in Chicago is terrible but tonight's game will be awesome. We are heading out 5 hours early because of the Dan Ryan constuction as well as to get in some GREAT tailgating. Keep an eye out on tonights ESPN 7:00 PM game. I am close to the field and will be wearing my 1981 throwback butterfly collar Fisk jersey. They are raising the flag tonight so it will be one hell of a home opener.

    Have a great time! I wish I could be there. I am a Blue Jays fan who visited Chicago last summer and went to a White Sox game. What a great atmosphere to watch a ballgame.

    I'll be watching on Rogers Sportsnet here in Canada.

    Hey Goose, they are playing the TRIBE....Go TRIBE!!! Hope CC shuts them out.....I know it's going to really get to the Indians to see that World Series champ flag go up...especially the way the lost at the end of last year to the sox.....hope it will be inspiratation for the year for them.....

    True...the fell apart the final 2 weeks last year.

    I'm hoping Griffey JR. has another fine year as well. I've Always been a Big Red Machine fan first.

    That is what you have to love about Chicago....we get all four seasons......but sometimes in a day image

    Game is delayed and may be rescheduled for a makeup. At least the banner was raised before the rain came.

    Great Time Sunday watching the Tribe go down hard. It will be an interesting year. I have attached a picture of myself at the game. We were right next to the bullpen and had a great time.

    Were you there for the Thome blast? From what I've heard up in here in Canada, there was a significant rain delay, but Thome cranked one after the delay.

    I was there until about 12:30 PM so I saw the homer. With the Three hour delay I had WAY to many beers! I am glad I finially came preparred with rain gear though. Made the weather tollerable.

    We were right next to the bullpen so here is another picture.

    Nice photo. I love looking at fans photos from games. It brings a perpective that you never see watching a game on TV.

    GO TRIBE!!!! Indians 8 White Sox 2 Great game by Jake Westbrook......and to think he was 0-4 against the Sox last year...goes to show that sometimes you just don't know......

    hard to believe it was a blowout also after the way these two teams played last year....I think they had something like nine or ten one run games....image

    Hey Southsider, Boone's healthy this year......are you on the Southside/??? how's it traffic wise to get to the Sox park???? can you take the subway? or will you be stuck in traffic....I'm in Cleveland, thinking about going to the series in June but heard horror stories about the Ryan construction....can you help??imageimageimageimageimage

    Are you driving or flying? If flying, what airport are you thinking about landing in? The Ryan is under major contruction but there are alternate roots to the park. If you land at Midway, you can take the city streets there and be there in 20 minutes or less.

    Goose, speaking of the Tribe, baseball is great here around Cleveland. Baseball was big in Phoenix (especially after 2001) but not like it is here. People really love baseball in Cleveland. I'm looking foward to this season. I just wish they wouldn't keep losing every superstar they get like Manny and Thome. Seems like everytime somebody gets good, they go elsewhere for the big money. I was a big Thome fan.

    I no longer live in Chicago. I'm out in the Washington, DC area, so traffic would indeed be a bear to get to Comiskular from here!

    I actually prefer taking the subway into the game, as it easy and I don't have to worry about driving. Plus, after a win, the whole scene is pretty crazy and fun. I took the El to Game 1 of the World Series last year and the ride back into the city with all the other Sox fans was great!

    Thanks ChicagoGlen, plan to drive and stay out near the Robert Stephens convention center....not sure if that is near Midway or O'hare....it's the center where they usually have the big card shows.....do you know if you can get on the train there and take it all the way to the Sox game?

    Thanks Southsider...agree it would be a mess trying to get to the games from DC....have been there often for work and I hate the Beltway....traffic is always a mess....been stuck several times on Columbia Pike near the Pentagon and the Navy Annex, you're probably familiar with the area....but thanks for you help.

    Steve, where you at in Cleveland??? I"m in Parma.....probably have seen you at shows...

    oh by the way INDIANS 4 Sox 3....another great game...this looks like a great rivalry for this year....
