Brett Farve

My local news (KARE11 in Minneapolis) reported tonight that Farve will announce his retirement tomorrow. Anyone else hear this?

So he'll 'retire' so he doesn't have to go through training camp, then make himself available in late august.

His prima donna act about 'should I retire?' over the past few months has worn very thin....I would say if it's taken you this long to make a decision, it's obvious your heart isn't in it anymore.

Who knows? Favre doesn't even really know. He could unretire anytime or perhaps play for another team later this season or next season.

Who the heck is Brett Farve? I guess it's another April Fools joke that didn't work.

Seems to me that the last 4 years it has been the press pushing to when Favre will retire. It's like they want the guy to leave. I'm not a Packers fan but the guy is fun to watch. If he didnt have the thumb problem, a better offensive line, and a couple of guys who could catch the ball more than they drop it, then he would still be one of the most dominating quarterbacks in the league. Even with the thumb problem if he had the other two he would still dominate. Leave Favre alone and let HIM decide when he wants to go instead of all the speculation.
And if he wants to retire this year then fine...if he doesnt then let the guy play!

I found out today there was more to the story than I heard. At the end of the report they threw in the April Fools comment. I was listening from another room and didn't hear that part.

Those wacky sports guys got me.

You know, maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm kinda bored or tired of all the April Fools Day crap. I mean, it's at the point where if anything legitimate actually happens on 4/1 you're not sure if you should really believe it. A well placed joke here or there can be funny, but it seems like EVERYONE is trying so hard to be funny, funny, funny that it's not funny.
