scanning coins

are scanners / scanners or is there a model that are better for coins?...I dont really have time or a camera for digi images, but have some coins / toned that are worthy of posting, and certainly should have photo cataloged , but my scanner just doest get the detail and certainly doesnt capture rainbow toning..this is the best my scanner can do,...thx for any suggestions on scanners...

    In my experience, scanners will not capture color very well and never captures luster. Nothing beats a good digital image.

    Here's my scan of one of my ex-Morgans. Model Epson Perfection 4180 Photo. The scan initially didn't come out like this. Just had to do a little tweaking to bring out the real colors.
