We always like coin show reports around here. In the future if you go to them, let us know stuff like what time you got there, how long you were there, what was the prevelant types of coins you noticed, age groups of the buyers, anyone selling books, etc. From 100 to 200 dealers is kind of vague. Next time count every single dealer, how many tables, height of tables, chairs available at dealers tables, material of chairs, how many dealers needed a shave or shower. Then there is always not so important stuff like entrance fees, how many days did the show run, parking fees, free samples, food prices, etc. Then you mentioned you only bought one coin. Did you steal any? What is a LOOP? We have a radio station here with that name.
Just arrived in San Jose tonight. I'm looking forward to hitting the bourse when the doors open Friday morning. Who knows, if I'm in the mood when I get home maybe I'll do a show report as well. Eh, prolly not...too lazy.

Geez, you are pretty intense about your show reports. I will be sure to remember all of the requirements for my next report.

Lol ... completely true! I kept sniffing under my own arms just to make sure that it wasn't me. What is up with all of the stinky coin people??? >>
Heehee, maybe they were too excited to shower?
I go to furry conventions... coin people could use some freshening up, but they're downright clean compared to some furries. Take your average, sweaty, stinky guy who needs a breath mint and shove him into a stifling hot mascot suit for 3 straight hours. The monkey house at the zoo is like a breath of fresh air in comparison.

I just got back! Scored a really nice lustre 1837 (first year0 seated dime in a PCGS-64 holder and pcgs MS-63 1831 capped bust dime! That's enough for my budget for a few months!
live each day like it's your last but don't count on it!

You DOG! I think I saw that one on Thursday and really liked it. I just couldn't pull the trigger, it didn't have a place for me in my collection. But it was sure pretty!
I have done business with both Don and Steve. Don Rinkor has a good eye for quality, but he knows to charge for it too. They are both super nice guys. Mike De Falco is another guy who is good to chat with when he isn't busy with other customers. Julian Leidman too.
It was good to meet you at the show and put a face with the name. Anytime you're at a major show I always believe it's important to view the auctions as where better to sit and veiw multiple dates/grades/services without the pressure to buy a coin. A great eduction imo.....
The show turned out to be a good one for us as is the norm for Santa Clara........we always have the opportunity to buy some really cool coins from local clients which is greatly appreciated and the retail biz is always brisk. I'm actually sitting in the airport watching the UCLA game waiting for the red eye flight home.

Did Superior have any nice coins for $1??
<< <i>Be careful, going to shows becomes addictive very quickly.
It's ok ... my pass is good for three more days

I noticed more than a few people there could use a shower, deoderant and a breath mint.
There was more than a few tables with the sort of stuff I like (bust and earlier material), but not many of them had the material I wanted,
either the dates, die marriages or grades were not to my choice.
I did have an opportunity to look at 2 early US mints sets (1948 and 1949).
All silver coins bright white, the nickel and cent were pristine clean, and the coins were glued to the paper on one side.
Is that something the mint did? Glue coins to the paper? That just seemed rediculous and the fact that there was not a
shade of color made me think someone had taken the original coins out and put fresh material in.
There were a lot of tables with way too many Morgans and little or nothing else. Now I like Morgans, but only as a last resort.
Overall not a bad show, I may try to get there again today if I can.
