Tales from the laundry: March

WeissWeiss Posts: 9,941 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just got through sorting through the ~$300 in quarters from the washers and dryers in my building's laundry. Lots of Nevada quarters, but none with any significant errors or strikethroughs. A few with unfortunately placed minor strikethroughs around the tail of one of the horsies, making them look like they're running from their own, uhh, gas.

One handful produced a totally silver rim, and my heart skipped a beat thinking I had another silver quarter. Nope. 100 Won (S. Korea). If I understand the exchange rate, it's worth about $.09 image

That's ok, I'll just put it with the NZ 10 pence I got a couple months back.

  • your pretty much right on for the exchange rate. I spend 33 days in South Korea, and it was a lot of fun. You would be surprised what $100 brings ya...

    cool deal

I used to throw silver in the washers at my old apt now and then, and wonder who was finding it all.

or maybe they would wonder why for 2 months all I used were BU deleware qtrs (well as BU as could be coming direct from the mint). I believe I spent 7 rolls between washing/drying. every once in a while i could slip in some canadian stuff, if it pre 70
