I need a VF-XF 1904-S Barber Half. I will pay $700 for VF and I will pay $1000 for a full EF. If you have a nice 1904-S XF40 au-50 I have a nice 1894 Morgan that is certified by PCGS a AU-53. Will trade even up if you can help.

It's gonna take you nearly twice that...

I'm not the onboard expert, but I think that's one of the toughest to find in that grade. Good Luck!

    Scott,

Whoever bought This 1904 s may sell it for closer to $700.00 than anything else I've seen the last 9 months. But to get problem-free, original AND attractive/PQ (no matter raw or slabbed), in VF-XF, esp XF 1904s, it's gonna hurt most of us pretty bad.

BTW I enjoyed the pics you posted on your set at NGC, I guess, 4 or 5 months ago, last time I checked.

    Best success to you,

    Don

    Scott,

You've been a forum member since April of 2003 but only 2 posts? I saw your Barber half article in the BCCS with your 1892-S VF-35 half on the cover (you outbid me on that one from Tyler and I'm still smarting about it!). There are many certified Barber nuts here. You should post here more often.

What an interesting recent history for the 04-s half, thanks for sharing. Just curious, but do you track other barber halfs as well?

Yes I do. from P1 to AU58 mainly graded by PCGS though I do include NGC and some ANACS. I quit doing the other TPGs as the grading standard just isn't there. I also quit doing raw. I just don't have the time. I should be offering my latest spreadsheet in about 2-3 weeks. Be sure to check out the US coin forum and put Barber in the search area.

    Craig,

Did you see the 04-S in NGC 58 that sold a month or so ago at Heritage for $8700 ? (+/-).
It was a 55 at best. Nowhere does it compare to my PCGS 58.

BTW, my old PCGS 55 sold at over $7500. last December.
