Best way to get a glossy card signed?

Tonight I am going to an autograph signing for WWE's Triple H. I was hoping to have him sign a card but the surface is really glossy and on the test card I used a sharpie didn't stick very well. Any advice?

In the past I've rubbed a little baby powder on the surface. It seemed to work pretty well.

Take a tissue or napkin and rub the surface. Make sure you lay the card flat so as to not crease it. If you rub the surface for a minute or so, it should take the gloss right off.
  • The best method is baby powder. Using an eraser works as well. Merely wiping it with a napkin, tissue, paper towel, jeans, etc. should only be done if it's IP and at the last minute. Whetever you do, do not use tissue that has lotion or moisturizers in it.

You could go all "Topps" and have him sign a sticker... and afix it to the card.

... all kidding aside, the eraser trick does work well.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!
