Did they try too hard, or is it nice?
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

Agreed
Better than the Soviet star on the Texas quarter.
However, do I think it is one of the best looking state quarters so far?....YES!

Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.
I expected Nevada might come up with one of the cheesiest designs ever, like an outline of the state map with slot machines, the Hoover Dam, or a silver miner inside. Kudos to whoever made this design or selected it instead.
Still, my indelible impression of the state of Nevada was made at age 12 when my parents drove me through the night from Bakersfield, CA to Bryce Canyon, UT. We passed through Las Vegas at 3 AM and saw all sorts of well dressed, slightly inebriated white people out on the street, nowhere near ready to go to bed.
I now teach recently released felons about computers, preparing them for the standard exam in the computer repair business. I insist on teaching them a bit of logic, and include this question on their logic quiz. It was inspired by my childhood Nevada experience and subsequent observations:
(I hope everyone from Nevada who is hard-working, honest, starving, or who has nothing to do with the Las Vegas strip will excuse this)
Consider the following premises:
*) All rich people grew wealthy because someone else suffered.
**) All contributors to the Republican Party are rich people
***) Everyone who contributes to the Republican Party is obese
****) Everyone who enjoys Wayne Newton ‘s Las Vegas performances contributes to the
Republican Party.
Which of the following can we logically conclude from these four if-then statements?
A) Wayne Newton is obese
All rich people enjoy Wayne Newrton’s live Las Vegas performances
C) People who are not obese do no not enjoy Wayne Newton’s Las Vegas performances
D) If your wealth was not made by making someone else suffer, you do not enjoy Wayne Newton’s
Las Vegas performances
E) Only/ C and D logically follow from the above four premises

Anybody who says what you said here deserves a $100 prize!!!
And no I don't like the NV 25C nor any of them except the one with Magnolias.

I am not from Nevada but, I think I am insulted by that question. Howver, since I am a obese Republician who does not like Wayne Newton, I will need to wait until I am sober to decide if I am offended or not.

Thanks, Mercury
When we both wake up you will find that the correct response is E). (C: People who are not obese do not enjoy Wayne Newton's Las Vegas performances and If your wealth was not made by making other people suffer, you do not enjoy Wayne Newton's Las Vegas performances) These follow logically from the four given statements, as absurd as they may be. No offense intended, just the rules of logic.
I just wondered what people will assume about Nevada given the nice horsies on the quarter. This coin conjures up different impressions of the state than my personal impressions of Nevada have.
In short, the design puzzles me because I don't get the connection. My favorite design to date is Connecticut -- I like the intricacy of the tree branches, and how the design covers most of the reverse.
Looking forward to the barrels of sperm (oil) on the Alaskan quarter.

There is life in Nevada besides Vegas.
I have yet to see one - is it really as three-dimensional as it looks?

Those arn't weeds they're peyote
Looking for Denmark 1874 20-Kroner. Please offer.
<< <i><> Those arn't weeds they're peyote >>
Uhh, no, Peyote is a very small button of a cactus, not a tall weedlike plant.
<< <i>Cheeeezey, reminds me of some little unicorn stuff that an eight year old girl would have. >>
I give the props for doing something with depth and movement. But honestly, the "my pretty pony" syndrome was the first thing that struck me, too.
