Kennedy and Sac. 2006 production out of control !!

I wonder why. Just the mint trying to make more $$$. They ran out of Sac's in 2005, guess that will not happen in 2006.

2005 - Kennedy .50 - 7,300,000
2005 - Sac - 5,040,000

2006 production, ONLY 2 MONTHS worth.

Kennedy 4,400,000 - more than half of all of 2005.
Sac 6,580,000- MORE than all of 2005 !!

Why make so many Kennedy's when no one ever spends them. Crazy!

I notice the U.S. Mint site is selling rolls of 2001 Kennedy Halves. Surplus from that year! My understanding is that Kennedy is only produced for collectors and not intended for circulation now.

it wouldnt be the first time they did that. lets spend time making other denominations and designs we can make money on. seems they are more concerned now with $$$ instead of true design and quality
