"Special" 1987 Red Book Cover.......Any Value?

drddmdrddm Posts: 5,379 ✭✭✭✭✭
Anyone know if the 40th edition 1987 Red Book cover with the imprinted seal on the front that DOES NOT have the picture of the 3 Wisconsin Numismatists or say 95th Anniversary Convention Milwaukee 1986 is worth anything?

I am checking out a 1987 Red Book on ebay right now that has a different seal on it, not the one pictured in the latest Coin World (April 3 issue, page 100) and want to know if this other 40th edition 1987 Red Book is worth any sort of premium.

Thanks,
drddm

Odd. If you check out page 393 in the 2006 edition of the Red Book there is only one item listed for the 40th edition. States Special ANA cover. Don't know what that means. Mine looks like a normal cover except on the front cover there is a $6.95 sticker, a 40th anniversary edition seal, a sticker that says special limited offer for pure silver medal .........
I don't know what the difference would be since there is only one type listed there. The values appear out of wack. So many things in the Red Book 2006 are messed up. On that same page note there is no issue price for the 1986, 1992 or a few other editions. I presume that that would indicate they were free.

Yes there is a couple typo in the 2006 Redbook price list. They list the 1986 39th edition twice. The second one should be the 1987 40th edition with an issue price of $6.95. The 87 ANA Special edition should not have a cover price because they were not sold but were given away at the dinner. (Same comment for the SS Central America and FUN Special edition) I haven't seen the picture in Coin World so I can't say which one it is.
