It was struck without the top clad layer.
Anyone know what $ amount these go for ? Or what they are called in error speak ?

"Missing clad layer obverse" would be the right term based on what I've seen. State quarters usually go for $150 and up. I'm not sure about the Susie B. It's hard to tell from the pics that it is missing. It looks painted then worn or some other post-mint condition.

Ask Fred Weinberg. He's the man when it comes to this stuff.

That looks like damage/AT to me image

I think if the SBA was struck without the clad layer, *I* think that it would have more of a "copper" color look to it.

  • At first glance I thought it was one that had been layered with something and then circulated.

It is more copper colored than the pic.I took it at work and could'nt get the actual look of it.

It's a lot thinner than a regular one.I guess the only signs that are in the pics are that the rim is flat in some places.

I'll go back to work and tell him since it's missing about a third of it,it's only worth 75 cents.

I think just last night while I was trying to fall asleep I was watching/listening to Coin Vault and they were selling a bunch of different varieties and error type coins and a SBA with a missing layer was going for over a grand. Call Robert Chambers and I am sure he make you a great dealimage
