I got to see Jame's set at FUN.......WOW!image

I'd love to see Mr. Wang's as well!....But, I am afraid if I saw that many fantastic Ikes
all at once....I'd probably pass out!image

I commend PCGS for setting up events like this! I think it is great that they can display collections
at major shows and give collectors a chance to see such wonderful sets. It can ony enhance the hobby.

Brian, I have to agree about seeing that many super Ikes. Ikes are the only coins that I collect as a series.
Everything else, I collect the " Key " coins as " type ". However,
nothing ever gave me as much satisfaction as collecting Ike dollars.

I've seen JC's set, and obviously my set.

JC has some remarkable coins, starting with his PKOK 74-D.

It'll great to see how the collecting community embraces "moderns"

Fun seemed to work well, and I'm just glad that PCGS is givng the west cost guys AKA Slugfootball, the opportuntiy to view the sets as well.

My set are in PCGS vault now. I sent in all my PKOK pieces, as well. See you folks on June.
PCGS is going to take the photos on all coins. Don't know whether they will publish the photo or not (or even before the show ;-)

It is so nice to see so many PKOK members re-union.

Very hard set and look forward to looking. There was a big long thread on the Ngccoin.com Forum a few weeks ago about the Peaco#k toners out of Salt Lake city. Makes for interesting reading, and worth a write up for the show. The most everyone agrees with is they came from one shop and the bank never issued IKes in holders--but at some point the IKEs may have ended up in bank holders.

  • Hello Morgannut2,

Do you have a link to the PKOK thread that you spoke about?

Maybe I can learn something. Now I feel like I don't know anything!

What the heck is a PKOK?

Search the PCGS threads for the PKOK story. Several members here have most of the story, and, some say they know the story. Believe less than half of what you read. Seeing is beleiving and they are very pretty coins. NOT national treasures like one fellow alluded to. BUT, the artist's work is very much like Rembrandt's work too. These are NO where near as important, but, special like his work none the less.

I'd LOVE to see James' set, he's a great guy with a good eye for outstanding Ike's. As hard as it is, he has turned me into a fan of one of the two bald guys' coins. I'm searching for those elusive type 2-1972 Ike's and have been successful. Now, I'm also looking for and finding the peg legs too. Look at his set and get a glimpse of what beauty can look like on a modern. I don't think anyone can capture the beauty in a photograph, but could be wrong. Congratulations to James on having his set back on display, it deserves it. There are a few other top sets I'd like to see PCGS put on display. How about having PCGS display what they think are the top 5 sets all at one show? Perhaps they can have three shows in a year, one for east, mid and west America shows?

How about having PCGS coming out east and giving us two months notice so I can arrange to see it too! Ray
