Hi-
I'm curious if anyone has gotten any really good bargains on "VINTAGE" cards off of ebay recently or one deal sometime in your collecting career that really sticks out in your mind as a "STEAL" ... Mine is a '71 kelloggs football set in mint condition for $250...
Hope to hear some cool stories!

Opened 6 of the sets. . .submitted 8 cards total - which have brought in a total of $350 - and of those 8, I kept one for myself and sent one to a friend.
R73 1933 Goudey Indian Gum - Series 288 - Nos. 118
Also looking for 1953 Parkhurst & 1953 Quaker Oats Ripley's BION.
If you have any available for sale PM me
1956 Topps Whitey Ford - graded 8.
1964 Topps Clemente - graded 7.
1957 Topps Kubek RC - graded 8.
1957 Topps Zimmer - graded 9.
1968 Clemente All-Star - graded 9. Awesome card that I paid $15 for.
There are others too, but for each one of these I've also had the ones that didn't work out so well:
1957 Clemente - erased border
1957 Clemente - advertised as NM, but had a crease pressed out of it. (Got a refund)
1968 Rose - sold as NM-MT, had about 3 creases in it when I got it (refund)
1957 Colavito RC - sold as NM-MT, had about a gallon of wax stains on the back of it
1956 BVG 7 Ted Williams - had a crease on the back of it. Thanks BVG!
Stay classy,
Ron

As for the great raw cards, I don't find many but I also don't tell anybody when I do. Last thing I need is people bidding up auctions on good sources I find.

1)60% plus of a 1949 bowman baseball set in EX or better condition with many stars and Hi #s.I have now finished it.
2) 59 Mantle Psa 7
3) A nice group of 59 topps raw from a seller Addict Boy.Best 59s I ever seen since breaking paks back in 59. I sent several for grading with most coming back 8 or 8Q.They are from the 4th series.
Pretty stoked on that one.

In addition, I've bought several lots of 1950's and 1960's cards, many of which graded PSA 8 and 9.

For more recent deals, I recently took a $125 flyer on a 1970 Kellogg's GAI MINT 9 pack with a nicely centered Kranepool on top from Jeff Brixton, as I needed a Kranepool PSA 10 and thought this may have a shot. I cracked the case, opened the pack, and ended up with not only the second ever Kranepool PSA 10, but also the second McNally PSA 10 and a Rose PSA 10. All were just exquisite copies with snow white borders, perfectly centered - the epitome of GEM MINT. The Rose sold for more than twice the pack cost, and I got 2 of the last 8 GEM MINTs I needed for a potential 10.00 set. Pretty cool.
Lastly, I took another $75 flyer on a perfectly centered BCCG 10 1977 #360 Payton 2nd year card, thinking I may at least get an 8 and maybe a 9 to either minimize my loss or maybe turn a quick profit if nothing else. I got it in hand and saw it looked better than my former PSA 9 copy, with razor corners and edges, so I cracked and sent it and VIOLA!!! the first ever PSA 10 copy of that baby. Not vintage of course, but fun enough to share. The first ever BCCG 10 I've had pan out to meet the "Mint or Better" label, and on the perfect (for my collection) card to have it happen on.
cracked and submitted both came back psa 9's. made a tidy little profit.
bought a 72 staubach (at least a 9) for 95.00 and took the one out of my set and submitted and it came back an 8. one of the members here bought it.
This is copied from my submission page on PSA. The first # is the new grade and the 2nd number is the original. I did great with my loupe and some patience to go through the entier set to find the 8's that would bump.

The cards ranged from very good to near mint condition. Two sets were short 2 or 3 cards, but there were some duplicates too. I didn't complain! I eventually had many cards graded , sold everything and largely bought my 2001 Honda Accord with the proceeds.

I bought a 1968 Kahns (small size) Hank Aaron for $40 that I eventually had graded as a PSA 8.
I was the high bidder on a lot of 3 1968 Kenwood Plaza Johnny Bench cards for $115. I sold one for $135, one for $155, and kept the best one for myself.
I won a 1973 Phillies postcard set for $60 that included a Mike Schmidt rookie. I had the Schmidt postcard graded and it came back an 8. It is still the only Schmidt postcard ever graded.
<< <i>5 or 6 years ago picked up a sheet with nine raw 1951 Parkie hockey cards, all Detroit, including Gordie Howe and Terry Sawchuck for $89. The Howe graded a PSA 6 and the Sawchuck graded a PSA7. Three of the others graded PSA 7, the other five I have kept raw (would grade 4 or below). >>
When you say picked up a sheet, do you mean an uncut sheet? I thought PSA didn't grade sheet cut cards.
