I dropped off 1725 cards for him at the Fort on March 3. Amazingly over 600-700 have been graded already.

Never more than 150 or so.

I always try to send in enough to get the bulk rate - but I fret too much about sending in a 500-card submission that gets stung by the Grader of Death.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Me too. I usually top out at 150 cards per submission, but will send in 6-7 submissions in a 2 week period. Unfortunately I've gotten the Grader of Death on my last 2 submissions. Still waiting on 3 more from PSA.

    Dakota,

My 9 ocs would have been 7s on average and my 8 ocs were 6s on average.

I am just as happy with the ocs rather than a 2-grade markdown.

To date about 1250 of my 1725 cards have been graded.

The turnaround is outstanding on the part of PSA.

At the 2004 National in Cleveland, I submitted my 1933 Goudey, 1951 Bowman, and 1952 Topps complete raw sets, for a total of 887 cards.

1200 cards at one time is the maximum that I have sent in. In 2003, I sent in a total of 7500 cards in a six month period. Three collectors combined our submissions together and sent off batches to PSA to get a discounted price and quick turnaround($36,000).

600 is my max at one time, but I sent them in 6 100 card batches. That was back in the Grader of Death days (who I caught a few times back then), and I was doing whatever I could to avoid his impact. Nowadays though, I would have no fear of 600 at once. PSA seems very very good these days at consistency. I've been submitting for 8 years and I think it's better now than ever.

Goose you are a madman!!! Is there no end to your father's collection? And did you come across a cherry '60 McCovey yet? image

My biggest submission was probably in the 300-400 range. I used to send in several high-grade '38 Cartledge boxing sets a few at a time until the well ran dry.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Has anyone ever sent in a large bulk order - say 300 cards or more - and received nightmarish results?

I would hope they would take steps to ensure that such a large order doesn't get completely creamed by a cranky grader, but I've never sent one in.
