Not REALLY old school, but it made me think..dgf

I love this original slide of Ken Griffey. The older I get, the closer the end nears for this guy, and the amount of "users" in the game today, it really makes me appreciate him more and more. He was superb! I never felt he was in Bonds' league BEFORE Bonds started using, but, somehow, I look at him differently. I love the "old school" Griffey, who smiled every time he had a chance. Very photogenic athlete.

I think if Griffey had not been hurt as often as he was, we would be talking about him being up there with Ruth and such. HE would be chasing Hank and Babe! You never hear his name brought up in the steroids scandal, and as many games as he has missed, he is still well over 500. I believe that Griffey is very undervalued as a player, and his cards.
Thanks for sharing the picture!
I started a Ruben Sierra collection a few years back just because I thought he was so photogenic. I'll have to dig those cards out and scan the best...
Inspirational stuff!

The only reason he kept getting hurt was he tried a little to hard on D. Sucks for him, but gotta love the heart and effort.

Ya know, when a players starts playing as a 19 year old kid, it can seem they've been around forever.
I know Junior can't stay healthy, but he is only 36.
And even with all the missed games and at bats, if he could string together another 4 seasons of 25-30 homeruns, perhaps even one big, healthy year, he'll still get close to Mays' 660. It's truly amazing to think of what could have been.
I know he's everyone's whipping boy, but the same can be said for Alex Rodriguez right now. If he stays healthy, he'll get to 700 too. And he's another one, like Griffey, who you wouldn't think is juicing.
I've gotten off topic. Great picture again!!!
