I'm inclined to say MS63 due to the severity of the hits on the chin (are they as deep as they look?)

That said, PCGS seems to grade CCs a point higher than I do a lot of the time.
    When in doubt, don't.

Pics are hard to judge, but Ill say Ms-63. I cant really determine how severe the obvers hits are with that photo??

  • I'm always wrong when I try to grade by pics, so I'll keep my opinion to myself. Sure is purty, though.

She's a nice 64, the hits are light image
  • I'd say a solid 64 .

10 years ago it was more like a 63

If those chin hits are just surface abrasions and the check is just a rub it could make 65 on a good day, i've seen worse in a 65 holder.

Are those all hits or are some of them frostbreaks?

    Wish the pic was bigger.

OK, I enlarged it a bit and then sharpened it, still can't tell for certain.

I'd go between 63 to 65, certainly no lower than MS63 and it could well be better.

The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

  • Put it this way--without the two distracting marks on the chin and potential dig in the obv. field, it would be shot 65. It totally depends how annoying these 3 areas are when the coin is seen live. That decides 63 or 64--image

MS64, but low-end, not worth a premium IMO.

    Under $300 would be right.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • PCGS 64

Then I would be suspect and would want to make sure it was not tooled, cleaned, thumbed, or otherwise messed with before I bought it. All of which could be easily hidden in the image.

I'm going to say 63. The scuffs aren't too deep, but there are more than I'd like to see on a 64. If it's in an SGS holder, then I'd be wary of problems, but I really don't see any based on the picture.

I would say 64 and it looks to me like most of the marks on the portrant are frost breaks not heavy hits. It that is so she could go 65 on the right day.

  • I think that coin is a great example of an uncirculated example of the date and mint. I would say MS63 or MS64, and the reverse of the coin looks exceptionally nice.

I like the look of that one- it looks like a probable 64, and very frosty!

That '85-CC appears to be a VAM 4. image

I grade the coin 64 if the chin hits were not overbearing. The coin went for $360 on ebay. Too much for SGS in my mind. They had it graded at MS65. No surprise there.

I always thought SGS=70. Man, they've toughened their standards.
