A nice size local show about 35 dealers. Very friendly dealers for the most part. 2 chatted and 1 gave me a qick lesson on how he grades his proof walkers. Only 1 grouchy dealer. I asked him what his best price was on his 1938d buffalo. he said " I marked them as is, if you don't like the price, to hell with ya, go somewhere else". I said " I will".
Anyway I wanted a nice example of a Buffalo for a while. Not ewven for a type set , just to have.I saw this 1938d ms66 ngc and bought it. full horn, nice split tail. wonderful toning and killer eye appeal.
I also found this very nice 1949 Franklin ms64 fbl. A very nice strike and had a very nice eye appeal as well.
It looks better in hand. It just wouldn't image well enough.
I really do like the buffalo, even though it is a common date. It really is a strong coin.
