Buffalo nickel lovers -- fun country auction finds

gyocomgdgyocomgd Posts: 2,582 ✭✭✭
A fun family trip to a country estate auction in Vermont. These came in a lot of maybe 100 old Buffs sitting in a tray, and these are the best.
P.S. and bragging, I gotta heckuva buy!

There. Took a while to log in and load. I don't think they were cared for particularly well, but still pretty clean. The luster on the 27 and 28 is explosive, too much for lil' point & shoot to capture. They gleam something fierce.

Actually, there are two more 1913 Type Is in very similar MS condition. But both have smallish spots of PVC and I put them in acetne soon as I got home.

Here are the other two, I pulled them out of their bath to give a quick look. The first has gunk to the left of the buffalo's face; most has already melted off. The second coin is more battered than I thought, but...oh well.

The file name I had given the coins was already "taken" by something else on the CU server.image
