Ebay Auction Legit or ???

I was considering a bid and OOPS, detected a few warning sighs on these two, from same seller: Item number: 8397465147 Item number: 8397465292

What say thee?

  • I like to avoid sellers that want you to read a book on how to jump through all the hoops they have laid down!

    Strike 1: Taipei, Taiwan
Strike 2: Annoyed-sounding, voluminous paying instructions, seem like trying to create an air of legitimacy.

Foul-tip: Powerseller image but alot of transactions under the ID.

Fould tip held on to by the catcher. Id avoid it categorically.

    ebay neg feedback on seller

Based on the number of cleaned, polished, fake, and not delivered items by this seller, they would scare me.

The seller claims they may not be able to tell a polished coin, but have no problem determining fakes. Hmmm. Not likely.

  • The seller seems to prefer cash over PayPal. That's a big red flag to me. I'd flee in terror from a seller like this.
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

that's odd, the top part of the feedback says 4 neg, but obviously way more than that.

The 4 only considers members who left a neg...not duplicate negs nor neutrals. This seller has 15 total negs/neutrals. Usually that would not be a killer out of 800 or so FB's. But when the words fake, polished, not received, etc. get tossed in there, that's not comforting.
It's one thing to argue over $5 postage but that's not the case here.

First time I've seen a seller photograph the reverse upside down to highlight the slab holograms rather than the coin. At least they are consistent. This might be a case of trying too hard to appear legit.
Or maybe it's just the way they do it in Taiwan.

    Unacceptable terms of sale. Pass.

You should consider spellcheck as you spelled detected wrong also.

Or, take your secretary home for the weekend.

    Actually, that's strike 1, 2 and 3.

Buyer and seller of vintage coin boards!
  • why would an American Money order sent to an American Bank cost him $25.00?
  • Well, someone went for it. It's risky business to deal with a seller outside of the jurisdiction of US courts.

Just as it's risky business to deal with some lawyers inside the jurisdiction of US courts.image
