Is the design of the $3 gold piece virtually the same as the type-III $1 gold?

what are the best names for these? Indian Princess? Liberty in Indian headdress? How far off(design-wise) is the type-II $1 gold?

Yes, these two designs are nearly alike and quite different from the Type II gold dollar.

I always called them "Indian Princess". One of my favorite designs.

Indian Princess is what many people call these, although most people that I show these coins to say, "That's just some white chick wearing a headdress."

BTW, it's a great design in my opinion.
