info on this PCGS slab please

I have seen these before, but don't remember the time frame when they were used. I rarely ever see them. Do they have a reputation for looser or tighter grading?

Condor has a great post going on the PCGS Slab Generations right here.
Your slab in question looks like generation #3 issued in December of 89. As far as grading standards, I don't really know.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

The PCGS "Doily" Slab. PCGS has a problem with counterfeiters about the time this slab was released. They put out this slab in an attempt to foil the "Bad Guys"

they must have used these for a small period of time,
    because i rarely see them.

also, the ones i have seen did not have superior coins inside
    them.
