    This kind of thing is not new... although my comparison pic is of no where near the quality of yours... check out this thread and my comparison pics.

    I've had similar experiences - ESPECIALLY with "white" silver coins, in particular dollars. They blast it with so much light you can't really see the flaws & imperfections.

    Here's one of MY examples - top pic mine (after crossover - PCGS's mechanical error regarding the VAM is another story) & bottom 2 pics theirs:

  • There's a big difference between those first two photos! That scratch on the cheek is sure a big one.

    Thank you all for bringing this to our attention. Due to the huge volume of coins we image, we have recently added more staff and invested in more technology and better processes. As a result, we improved a lot of images, such as dark copper and some toned coins, but there are still issues like the example in this thread. We are making changes to fix those sorts of issues, and are constantly trying to improve in this area. We welcome the feedback and would like to know what everyone is thinking, so we can continue to provide the best images we can.
