I purchased this NGC unattributed 1923 VAM 3 Peace dollar today at my local coin store. The owner had just purchased 100 1923 and 1922's. He let me search through the box before he sells them on Monday. How rare is this VAM? Also, if someone can confirm my attribution please do. What do you think it will grade? Yes, it is in an older NGC holder.

Looks like a 63 to me.
The SSDC has the VAM 3 valued at $175 in 64. I've never seen one trade for that much, but all in all, you did very, very well on a cherrypick. Congratulations. My suggestion to you, whether you plan to keep it or flip it, is to let NGC reholder it with the VAM attribution for $10. I would not try to cross it to PCGS as I think the coin would DNC if you limit 64, or go 63 on an open grade cross, and then you'd lose quite a bit of value.

Edited to add: Larry, you are a credit to the hobby. I ONLY deal with VAM guys that stand behind their attributions (when the slab doesn't note it - e.g.), like you do.
