Buy a roll of BU Mercury Dimes, he supplies an empty PCGS graded slab for you to make your own. How can this be allowed? His title leaves you wondering what exactly he's selling and what is free.

I agree with you. I can't feel sorry for any disgruntled high bidders.

The auction states quite clearly that you will receive a "FREE PCGS 1943-D MS66-FB MERCURY DIME SLAB" with every 75 dimes. That's 75 dimes at 6 bucks a piece = $450.00 and you get a slab. It says absolutely zero about getting a coin.

<< <i>You only get the slabed coin worth $40.00 if you buy $450.00 worth of RAW coins. >>
It's worse than that. You only get the slab if you buy the $450.00 worth of coins. Nowhere do I see any specific statement that there will be a coin in the slab. And if you check the seller's other auctions, you can see that quite a few people have complained about not getting what they thought the auction said they'd get, so I wouldn't trust the guy to deliver anything the auction doesn't specifically state.

These days in the minds of many PCGS slab is the same thing as PCGS coin. Not that I'd trust this seller with even a cent, but he is not offering empty slabs.

That might be true, but I'd bet strong money that what the seller is actually doing is counting on that perception in people's minds. He clearly has a history of wording his auctions in such a way as to be able to give the buyer much less than what they were expecting. It would be interesting to follow the feedback from this auction.

<< <i>It does say you get a 1943-D in PCGS66FB for every 75 you buy at 6 bucks each, >>
Actually it doesn't. It says "FREE PCGS 1943-D MS66-FB MERCURY DIME SLAB WITH THE PURCHASE OF 75 DIMES". Now while h probably meant that you would get a PCGS slabbed 1943-D dime in MS-66FB, if he just sent you the cracked out slab you wouldn't have any grounds to complain. The auction literally just says that he will send you the slab.

--Yes, cant be an empty slab to put the coin in--the empty slabs are worth a lot more than $1000 each.
