This is in response to the inventory tracking question - Excel question.

I wanted to put this there, but I wanted to see if anyone had anything to add to the Excel spreadsheet information.
One thing about the spreadsheet. It sounds crazy, but put every piece of information you know about the coin in the spreadsheet when you first set it up. Don't assume that a general inventory is all you will ever want. Also, separate each piece of information so that you can easily sort your collection. I would ask people to put the columns they use in their spreadsheets (I would also like to know that for my spreadsheet, in case I have missed something). The initial setup will save you a gozillion hours worth of time. Trust me.
My current columns:
Series
Denomination
Year
Mintmark
Mintage
Variety
# Grade
Letter Grade
Certificate Number
Place of Purchase
Date
Cost
Greysheet Bid
Bullion Content
Certified Population - ANACS
Certified Population - PCGS
Certified Population - NGC
Rarity - Briggs, etc.
