Sellers need to speed it up !!

It's amazing. When trading cards with other members, you get your cards within three days.....tops! When buying off Ebay, 9 days and I'm still waiting on card lots. Three seperate purchases and nothing, yet.

I'm even waiting on a check from an auction that finished 9 days ago!

Is there any type of incentive we could start including with our payment details to get these people in motion? anybody have any ideas?
For instance, if the package arrives within four days, I'll deposit another $1.00 into your Paypal account.

Cheers! Wick

I'm with you, Wick. When I sell stuff, it goes out in the mail within 2 days MAX. I wouldn't put auctions up on eBay if I knew I wouldn't be able to ship on a timely basis. No communication after a sell/buy is always fun, too, but now I'm being cynical. image

In the past, to encourage quicker payments with my auctions, I've offered to waive shipping costs (for single card auctions) if a Paypal payment was made within 24hr's of auctions ending. That went over well! I still do that occasionally if I need the money quickly! As far as getting your auctions quicker? Well... the only thing you can do is help yourself by paying immediately after the auction ends, and give your seller NO EXCUSE for delay. Read feedbacks carefully, and leave feedback appropriately!

  • I agree with fiveniner ! All buying and selling transactions should be settled/shipped within 24 hours.

    A recent favorite of mine:

Won an item on February 24 of this year.
Paid right away with paypal as soon as I heard from the seller.

Never got my cards, so e-mailed 'what's up?'
His response : "I mailed the cards on March 10, so they should be with you soon."

So he waited 2 weeks to mail them after getting my paypal payment? WTF is up with that?

I always pay as soon as possible and don't mind waiting, but I've recieved cards from some sellers in just 2 days, and that really makes my day.
  • Anybody think that 12 days is not enough time to receive a check? I sent an e-mail on friday to them askin where their payment is and I haven't received a response from them. Is 12 days not enoughtime to have Ebay send them a friendly reminder? Or am I just being too impatient. I send payments out immediately and I hope that others would have the same respect also. Or at least communicate when I send them an email.

I finally put in my auctions that I would like to have communication within 7 days of at least how payment is going to be made, either by Paypal or check or other. Just as a way of knowing. I have had a least one buyer not do anything for 10 days after the auction as far as payment. Though at that time I did not have any set rule. I am not trying to be a pushy seller, but at least let me know what your plans are for paying within 7 days. I can live with that.

  • I always ship same day..or the next..providing no post office Holidays.. but here's one for you..

did a buy it now for a lot of 78 Football cards...$14.94 delivered. Paypal's within 3 minutes of auctions end. That was Feb. 12, so when March 1st roled around, I sent a message asking what was up. 2 days later ..I get an email saying that he'd look into it..but "didn't HAVE TIME" to do it for a few days..as he had company from out of town. Fast forward another week....I send another email asking how he made out. The next day, he sends me a note saying that he had missed them and were mailed that day..and provided me with a tracking number.

2 days later, low and behold they were in the mailbox. Just as described...packaged well....JUST FIVE WEEKS late!! lol

Oh well...atleast I did my part.

same thing happened to me. The seller in question lives 30 miles away too.
I could have drove to the city and picked them up. why it took hom 2 weeks to mail them out is beside me. Looking at his feedback people that waited for the same amount of time left glowing feedback for fast shipping!
I was so tempted to leave a neg. but of course this seller did not leave positive after his payment was recieved within minutes of the auctions ending. So I just pass his auctions by now.

Geez, good thing you guys don't live north of the 49th--things can take weeks and weeks. Patience must be practised.

I bought a card a few months ago and paid via paypal immediately that day. Well, 10 days go by, so I send the seller a very professional and courteous email asking if everything was ok, was it shipped, etc. No response. I wait about a week, same thing, this time explaining how I really would like to know whats going on, and give him a chance to explain before filing with ebay or paypal for non receipt. Again, nothing. So, after another few days I file, go through the 10 days paypal allots for the seller to respond, again nothing. I get my refund from paypal since the seller didnt respond. Well, a month later I get a email from ebay containing an unpaid item reminder and an email threatening a strike. I email the seller via ebays form esplaining everything...how and when I paid, the emails i sent regarding it, the time I gave him to respond, and so on. The guy procedes to send me at least 10 nasty emails saying he is sick and tired of people filing with ebay and paypal and getting burned on his fees, and because I filed he didnt mail me the card. I tell the whackaloon that I waited well over a month before filing, and ask him if he didnt think it should have been shipped sometime during that month or so, or respond and tell me why. Well, he just didnt get it. A complete and total jacka$$ in every sense of the word. In the end I got the strike since he just didnt want to hear anything, so I wrote ebay explaining everything, include a copy of my payment info, and they removed the strike, so I got my refund and strike removed, but it is still killing me what a fool this seller was.
