To me, it simply looks like the lighting on the "scalped" bison is more intense, hiding details visible in the "non-scalped" coin. So the message is: "I've got a shiny new nickel. Can I have $75.00 for it, please??"
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.
I once wondered in an old thread if the normal ones were actually the rare ones, and Registrycoin said to call that one the Spared Bison.

Good idea - flip it over for twice the fun! I'm sure there are some out there.
Lucky for us it's only the head of Jefferson - if it showed his whole body and there were die cracks, we could have a situation like we had with a certain Minuteman quarter a while back.

Struck from worn dies.......worth maybe 10c.........but why not try to exploit a niche after so-called Speared Bison was "MISTAKENLY" recognized by the major third party grading service. $75 is quite a joke!! God Bless America!!
