Do any of you use this?

How many seconds before the auction ends should I set it for? Is 5 seconds enough?

I use it, it's great. 5 is plenty, they usually add another two seconds to your lead, just to be on the safe side that the bid will be placed, so in reality it's 7. I have it at 3 but theoretically it's more risky.

I find that 5 seconds is enough.

Mine's set to default 5 sec. Haven't lost anything I had bid on... with a large enough bid that is.

5 seconds once wasn't set close enough to the end of the auction, I was outbid by somebody who set his sniper to 3 seconds. image

Udo, it's actually the amount of the bid that counts more as cacheman said, and who was the one who initiated me to auctionsniper. If your bid was higher than the one placed after yours, you would have still won the coin, at one bid increment above that of the last sniper. I used to place manual snipes as low as 2 secs before I joined up,pre-dsl, just with an isdn modem, I'm sure I could take it down to one with dsl if I tried,so you can't rely on timing alone.
