Have you ever been watching an auction with intentions of placing a snipe bid-

and when you check back on the auction, you are set back on your heels (shocked) at the current price?

  • Last nite on a PCGS MS66 cent-- In MS67 it's $7000 so I sniped them back, then resniped with 5 seconds left and got it. I hate having to sit at computer for this nonsense!!image

Most of my intended snipes never get sent because the price has already gotten away from me.

That's when it's time to think about selling it all and waiting it out for saner times, living vicariously through the coin purchases of others.

That happens to me constantly, and is one of the best rarely-mentioned reasons for sniping: nobody knows that I was interested in coins that I didn't bid on.

Or your Internet server bog's down at 5 seconds and you lose the snipe. Happened to me Wednesday on TT.image

I put in a snipe on a coin over the weekend, and when the auction closed a few seconds later I was shocked to find three separate bidders had come in with snipes over my final bid, all in the last ten seconds. I wasn't disappointed so much as I was embarassed at my pitiful attempt.

That used to happen all the time with me (even up to a minute!). Changed ISP's and that problem has since gone away.

  • I snipe every auction using software. It's easy and saves you alot of hassle. Don't ever bid--just snipe the last 5 seconds. Works for me great!
