German Coin

I have a sliver coin and it was minted at Deutsche Numismatik (Frankfurt) in 1965. The airmail envelope
has a stamp 5/1/64, so it may have been minted a few months earlier.

The name of the coin is 1110 Kennedy Attentat 54S It is 70 grams, silver and 60mm
It has a picture of JF Kennedy in his car with his wife and 2 others when he was shot. The
other side is a picture of Jack Ruby shooting Oswald.

My mom ordered this coin and I was always facinated by it. She later gave it to me.
I have recently been sorting coins, currency and stamps and decide to followup. I can't seem
to find any info.

Thanks
elle

Just to be sure, I checked coin catalogs but couldn't find it.

My first impression was that it is a silver round (if silver and not clad) and not actually legal german tender. 60mm size tends towards medals, commem., etc. As a curiosity or to the right person it may be worth something, otherwise, the value of its metal.

I wish I could do better for you-maybe someone else is familiar with it.

  • Thanks.

I think it must be a commemorative but I am unable to find any information. I have contacted a few people that handle German coins and they don't have any knowledge of this coin.

    The writings are

    Back
"nhon singul iure oswald ruby perimit"

    Front
"in kennedyn abiecta vis dallas M C M L XIII"

The coin is incrediibly detailed - I will post pictures if i can ever figure out how to keep my scan under the legal limit image
